How to get a referral for physiotherapy

Most physical therapy in the Philippines requires a referral from a licensed physician. It sounds like a hurdle — it’s usually a quick step. Here’s exactly how.

Why a referral is required

A physician’s referral confirms your diagnosis and clears physiotherapy as safe and appropriate for your condition. It protects you, and it lets your therapist build the right program from day one instead of guessing.

1

See the right doctor

Any of these can write a referral for physical therapy: an orthopedic surgeon (bone, joint, ligament, or post-surgical cases), a physiatrist / rehabilitation-medicine doctor, or your general physician for many common conditions.

2

Ask for these specifics

When the doctor agrees, ask that the referral notes your diagnosis, that it’s for physical therapy / rehabilitation, any precautions (e.g. weight-bearing limits), and the date, license number, and signature.

3

Send it to us

A clear photo of the referral is enough to get started. We’ll review it, confirm your service area, and book your free consult call.

Don’t have a referral yet?

Reach out anyway. Tell us your situation and we’ll point you to the right kind of doctor and help you take the first step — many of our patients start exactly here.
